Experts voice fears over Thames Gateway project

Prescott's regional quangos hindering Thames Gateway regeneration

Caroline Spelman has blamed John Prescott’s obsession with regional government for the lack of progress with plans to regenerate the Thames Gateway area east of London. Responding to a Campaign to Protect Rural England report, the Shadow Local Government and Communities Secretary said the scheme to build new homes in the Gateway was being “strangled” by the Deputy Premier’s legacy of overlapping public bodies and bureaucracy.
