TQ2278 : Hammersmith Bridge at dusk (2): seen from the tow-path at Riverview Gardens

by

Seen here looking upstream from Barnes riverside. This ought to be one of London’s prettiest bridges, but doesn’t look its best painted yellowish green. An earlier colour scheme, far better suited to the lines of the bridge, is recorded in a contribution by Dr Neil Clifton: [[614873]].

The bridge and Riverview Gardens were favourite locations in the work of the late playwright, Dennis Potter.

From the Geograph point of view, this bridge lies awkwardly across the corner of square TQ2278. This shot was taken from TQ2377, the next square to the south-east.
