TQ4379 : Train at North Woolwich station on the last day (1)

by

Silverlink electric unit 313 116, named “Nikola Tesla”, stands at North Woolwich having worked a North London Line service from Richmond. This was the last day of operation before the line from Stratford to North Woolwich closed, hence the significant number of railway enthusiasts on the platform. The Stratford to Canning Town section of the line was incorporated into the Docklands Light Railway, whose King George V line (opened the previous year) effectively replaced the remainder of the route. More recently, part of the formation between Canning Town and North Woolwich has been reused for Crossrail.
